Raceal McWhorter, Artist/Curator is featuring Ugandan Artist/Youth Minister, Dan Morris Tumusiime as principal exhibitor.
Dan’s art and the art he will bring are exquisite, colorful and moving. He was earned a Bachelor of Industrial and Fine Art Degree from Makerere University and his also an ordained Youth Minister at Victory Church Seeta, the second largest church network in and around Kampala City, Uganda.
Dan developed "Ugandan Art for Peace" project in Uganda. He states: "The idea is to use the power of art (visual and audio) to save succeeding generations from the scourge of poverty, disease and wars… practically, when communicating to the illiterate and majority, one ought to simplify the information."
The Art for Peace Exhibition took place at Makerer University where more than 1,000 people attend, many dignitaries, public figures, religious leaders, and Miss Uganda, who painted on a blank canvas as a peace pledge. People came from miles around to attend the event including the physically challenged and political rivals.
Dan founded the IX foundation where he continues his efforts to promote peace by rehabilitating former child soldiers, AIDS orphans and widows through the therapy of creating art.
We look forward to seeing you there!
